Another MH17 Freedom of Information Act request rejected by Dutch government
Many Wet Openbaarheid Bestuur (WOB or Freedom of Information Act) requests by media and individuals related to MH17 were rejected by Dutch goverment.
End of April 2018 Dutch government made public it rejected another WOB-request. The rejection was done by the Ministerie van Infrastructuur en Waterstaat.
The WOB-request was done by RTL Nieuws as shown in the reference used in the letter. RTL submitted the request at January 10, 2018.
RTL Nieuws requested the following
- NOTAM of April 3
- Documents related to the ICAO State Letter dated April 2 2014
- Information about airspace over Ukraine
- all reports in Eccairs reported in 2014
- All information exchanged with Eurocontrol
Some of the information requested under 1,2 ,5 was either released or already a decision was made in an earlier WOB-request
Information related to requests 3 and 4 was rejected. The mentioned Eccairs is the European Coordination Centre for Accident and Incident Reporting Systems. Data archieved in Eccairs cannot be shared with external parties as it is confidential and can only be used to increase safety of aviation.
