MH17 foundation “please handle human remains with respect. Do not abuse for publicity”

Stichting Vliegramp MH17, a Dutch foundation which represents  interests of MH17 next of kin,  makes an appeal to people who find or have found material remains of the air disaster, to hand them in to the local authorities in a respectful way. In a statement, the chairman of the foundation asks those founders to “refrain from seeking publicity, personal fame and / or political advantages” in the interest of the relatives, Dutch NOS reports.

The reason for the appeal is the latest finding of bones at the MH17 crash site by freelance journalist Patrick Lancaster. As I proved in this blogpost, it is impossible the bones found by Lancaster could have been there since the shot down. Someone clearly placed the bones under a stone. The exact spot was searched by the Dutch recovery team.

In October 2017 I wrote a detailed blogpost about a previous finding of bones. Again at the MH17 crash site which  has been centimeter for centimeter searched by the Dutch recovery team in April 2015.

In all of his videos, Lancaster states he only wants to help the next of kin. He adds that the investigators should return because they did not do a proper job.

NOS reports:

Chairman of the foundation and even the surviving Piet Ploeg does not believe the story of the journalist. “To be honest, I was incredibly angry, it can hardly be a coincidence that you are walking somewhere on the crash site, accidentally picking up a rock and finding a dimple with a number of bone remnants, while that spot was completely excavated and sieved by the researchers,” he says. in the NOS Radio 1 Journaal.
